CYBERTECH SERVICES DIGITIZATION Cybertech performs services ranging from digitization of complete historical databases to marketing the completed CD-Rom product to a world-wide customer base. Our first step is to convert the text material of each journal to digital format so that we can distribute the data electronically on CD-Rom. Each page is scanned separately into computers which perform OCR (Optical Character Recognition) on the text. Of course, these programs aren't fail-safe or fool-proof so significant amounts of editing must be performed on each scanned document. As our commitment is to digitize these databases in the EXACT FORMAT as the original document, the editing can be quite painstaking. We feel that the benefit to the user and the librarian or institution is worth this attention to detail. It is our intent that every table, graph, picture, statistic, formula, or any other type of information be included in the exact manner as was originally published. Users are then able to print hard copies of passages, pages, or complete articles in the pagination, design and content as the original manuscript, regardless of age of the original. Edited pages are then proofed, re-edited to correct first pass mistakes, and then placed in a staging area. Our internal files are prepared (Table of Contents, User's guide, search tutorial, etc.) and when all data and files are ready an index is constructed of the entire CD-Rom contents.
